Vermont Governor Jim Douglas signed Senate Bill 80, increasing the state MINIMUM WAGE effective January 1, 2006 then beginning January 1, 2007, and each subsequent January 1st, the minimum wage rate shall increase by 5% or the percentage increase of the Consumer Price Index. The wages for employees in the hotel, motel, tourist place and restaurant industries will receive an increase in “Maximum Tip Credit Allowed” on January 1, 2006 while the Minimum Base Rate will remain at the 2005 rate.
Five other Vermont MANDATORY posters have been updated to reflect the merger of the Vermont Department of Labor and Industry and Department of Employment and Training that became effective on July 1, 2005. In addition, “Equal Opportunity is the Law” regarding employment and the availability of auxiliary aids and services for individuals with disabilities has been added to each posting.
