Mandatory Updates to Maine and Missouri Labor Law Posters

Some state and federal laws (statutes and regulations) require posters or notices to be posted in the workplace. Where there are mandatory-to-post requirements employers must conspicuously display the notices in accessible areas, such as employee break rooms or common gathering locations.  By posting notices, employers comply with state and federal laws and employees become more aware of their rights and responsibilities. Both posting and keeping on top of changes to multiple notices can be a challenge for employers. Compliance Poster Company takes the guess work out of labor law compliance with the state and federal All-On-One™ posters. With that being said, two states, Maine and Missouri have mandatory changes that require employers to update notices.

Maine

The Child Labor update is applicable to those employers who employ minors in the workplace. This mandatory change includes the importance of academic standing with regard to minors being granted a work permit, as the superintendent of schools must make that certification. Also, employer record keeping is specifically enhanced as part of the update. Employer must show what time a minor begins work, the total hours he/she works, and what time the minor finishes work each day.

Compliance Poster Company has updated the Maine All-On-One™ poster. Since there is a single change employers are encouraged to purchase the cost-saving ME Child Labor Peel ‘N Post™ to bring current Maine All-On-One™ posters into compliance. At only $9.95, the Maine Child Labor Peel ‘N Post™ can be purchased by clicking here.

Missouri

The Workers’ Compensation update is applicable to all employers in Missouri. This mandatory change includes new text under the “Employee Fraud” section specifically regarding “intent to defraud” as a qualifier for a Class D felony. Additionally, an entirely new section has been added which addresses workers’ safety. Included in the new text is the importance of developing and implementing a comprehensive safety and health program.  These programs can significantly reduce occupational injuries and lower workers’ compensation costs. Employer assistance in the area of occupational safety and health as it relates to workers’ compensation is available through the Missouri Department of Labor.

Compliance Poster Company has updated the Missouri All-On-One™ poster. Since there is a single change employers are encouraged to purchase the cost-saving MO W.C.
