Governor Como of New York Warns Against Noncompliance with Minimum Wage Law

As you probably know, on December 31, 2013 New York’s minimum wage increased to $8.00 per hour.  The increase is part of a three step rate hike with additional increases on 12/31/2014 and 12/31/2015. With the recent increase comes enforcement to ensure workers are being paid the correct hourly rate. As a result, Governor Como has issued a warning to employers not complying with the state’s minimum wage laws, emphasizing noncompliance can result in fines, charges and civil or even criminal punishment. Guidance that includes one-on-one support and a streamlined reporting process are available for businesses.

Compliance Poster Company updated the New York All-On-One™ poster with the minimum wage increase back in December 2013. New York Minimum Wage Peel ‘N Post updates were also available for the change for those businesses displaying current NY All-On-One™ posters.
