Arkansas, Ohio and Oregon Raise Minimum Wage Rates for 2015

Arkansas Minimum Wage

Arkansas is one of four states where voters recently approved a statewide minimum wage rate increase that will be phased in over the next few years.  The minimum wage will increase to $7.50 per hour on January 1, 2015, $8.00 per hour on January 1, 2016, and $8.50 per hour on January 1, 2017. Voters also approved minimum wage rate increases in Alaska, Nebraska and South Dakota.

Ohio and Oregon Minimum Wage

Ohio and Oregon minimum wage workers will also see a raise in their paychecks starting January 1, 2015. Both states annually adjust their minimum wage rates for inflation based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Ohio’s minimum wage rate will increase to $8.10 per hour, and the minimum wage for tipped employees will increase to $4.05 per hour. Oregon’s minimum wage rate will increase to $9.25 per hour effective January 1, 2015.
